Personal info:
Name: Abid Ali
Age: 22
Location: Dubai, UAE.

Character info:
Name: Mobid
Class and spec: Balance Druid (Moonkin)
Professions: Engineering and Jewelcrafting

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving them:
Apollo- Levelled with them then left to join a raiding guild.
Scions of Proteus- I did'nt know much about the guild when I applied. I just joined after a friend who later left the guild. I would continually see my raid invite status on 'tentative', when I confidently remembered to have accepted. And it had been weeks since I'd done a raid with them and was pugging continually, so I decided to leave.
Puzzles- Could not make it through trial period as I was having a few very bad weeks IRL and they found another moonkin meanwhile.

I'm back in Apollo atm.

Why do you choose Imperium, and what do you expect?
1.The chance to explore the very pinnacle of endgame raiding content.
2. The opportunity to raid amongst nagrand's finest in a positive and progressive environment.
3.Well organized and fair raid setups.

I am deeply interested in become a proper raider and I believe you can offer me what you have claimed. I have experienced no. 2 on the list since I have often raided with Imperium folk and I enjoy their professionalism. I have always looked up to Imperium as a proper raiding guild and it would be an honor for me to be a part of it.

Previous raiding experience (also pre wotlk and pre tbc).
I have started playing World of Warcraft only recently and therefore I lack proper raiding experience which I know is essential.
Since I've started I have been in almost all of the raid instances to get a taste and feel of all of them. I have not been in Vanilla though.

Do you enjoy your class and will you play it for a long long time?
Yes my druid is my first, main and favourite character. It's also my favourite class from warcraft III. I have been playing it since my first day on Azeroth and I have no intentions of making another class my main toon. I know this class really well and I know how to get the best out of my moonkin.

How often do you play?
I play every day and whenver required(raid nights). On my vacations I am always available.(I'm an aerospace engg. student)

Will you attend at least 4 raids regularly every week?
Sir Yes Sir !

Please provide us with a screenshot of your UI, and WWS report of any recent raids you have participated in

Do you see yourself as a fast learner on new encounters?
I'm not gonna toot my own horn but yes there have been fights where I have picked up and managed almost instantly when I had never watched videos or read tactics before. But that doesnt mean that I dont read up and think about the fite beforehand, I usually do.

What are your strong sides in raids, and where do you feel you can improve?
Tbh I can't say, it's for others to assess. I can say I manage great dps for my current gear. But I can definetly improve on my raid experience. You always get better with practice and experience.

Other information that you want to share:

Guys, I do understand some of the '?' on your heads and ':S' on faces since I do not have high rated gear and progress but what I can assure you is that is not weakness in playing technique, but rather due to lack of oppurtunity. My raiding progress is almost entirely my own through pugging with others and creating pug groups. The fact that I am not an old player does not mean I cannot play like an experienced player, I have learned alot in this short while and I am always learning and most importantly I am dedicated to raiding and want to be a part of a hardcore raiding guild.
I may not match the guild's standards as far as progress is concerned, but given the oppurtunity I can catch up soon enough and not be a cause of letting down or slowing down fellow guildies, and I like to think I would be a good long term investment for my guild. Rest will be determined by my trial if you guys decide to give me one.

If I have missed out anything, let me know,
Thanks guys.

Hello,

Anything in specific you're wondering about ? The haste gems are there because I needed to keep my haste upto and above 700.

The 1 to = are keybinds are the ones i use most. For decursing etc. I use Decursive the addon.

care to explain why?

Haste: The haste cap is the point at which the GCD hits 1.0s with Nature's Grace active. This requires 1.5/(1.03*1.03*1.05*1.2) - 1 = 12.21% haste, or 401 haste rating. Without Wrath of Air Totem, the cap becomes 585 haste rating.

Yes 401 is the haste cap, but its a soft haste cap. Adding more haste lowers cast time and I've experienced that myself. For example,
With 420 haste: starfire(2.1sec)/ Wrath(1.1sec)
With 691 haste: Starfire(1.9sec)/ Wrath(1sec)

Now this makes a difference when our Omen of Doom(Tier 10 2pc) buff shows for 6 sec.
So, for me higher haste definetly boosts my DPS.

As for key bindings, all those cases mentioned are rare for me apart from rebirth, in which I have to use the mouse anyways to mouseover/click the deadman anyways.
BUt yes keybinds are essential, and I am going to make some, including the ones you suggested. I'm also looking for a good caster UI atm, not comfortable with this one. Thanks friend

And thanks for reply.

I simply cannot stress enough the following:

You should not make keybinds just because we are asking for them, you should be making them because you realise it's a massive improvement, and therefore be asking yourself, "why haven't I been using them already?"

Too many times I see people just throwing random keybinds everywhere when it's quite clear they have no intention to use them.

Do you use any class information sites/forums? Can you name any?

Why do you gem spirit then choose the Spellpower+Stamina spellthread?

I'd argue that you would see a better DPS increase if you use Reckless Ametrine (12 Spellpower 10 Haste) in your yellow sockets. 20 crit gem? Moonkins are already close to the crit cap as it is.

Is Engineering a really sensible choice for a raiding Moonkin? It may well be, but tell me why you think this!

Don't normally comment on applications :) But bored at work so thought Id pop my 2 cents in!
Whilst Neko makes some valid points - I'd like to say its great to see an applicant with 2 raiding professions/epic gems/fully enchanted and has made the most of the gear available to him (in terms of crafted items).

And, whilst maybe he doesnt have everything keybound or w/e there are some great clickers out there!
Im happy to hold my hand up and say there is still some shit I click! :)

example of why keybinds are important,

lich king heroic, you stack up for the valkyr come, as that happens defile is cast on you. reactions were delayed but you start to move.

outcome 1
because rocket boots are on '8' I believe from your keyboard, while strafing it takes you longer to reach the button and drop a defile under the valks therefor wipin a heroic attempt

outcome 2
because boots are on a closer keybind, (by closer i mean near W,A,S,D) you strafe and boot at the same time, you make it clear of all the people drop defile in a safe place an the attempt goes on.

This is the importance of keybinds

Sorry for the late reply,

Nekovivie: Yes I do understand that the advantage of using keybindings are ENORMOUS and milliseconds count, and therefore keybindings are a priority to me regardless of acceptance or rejectance here. Part of the experience of applying/joining a good guild is learning and picking up things which make you a better player, and I am taking you guys' every point into serious consideration.

I do read up often on class discussions but not at any one place. Usually I use greymatter/elitistjerks/strayegg and wow forums but its usually random, so I can rarely reference it and remember where I read something.
Coming to gemming, the reason that spirit gem is there is because I need 2 blue gems to activate my meta-gem.
I remember reading somewhere that moonkin's shud aim for 35% crit and mine currently is 32.42% so I gemmed for it.
And I have a confession to make about that enchant on my pants, I was actually going to put the other one(50spell 20spi) but at the time I was buying from vendor and that one was expensive and gave me ONLY 0.4spell power from spirit, so I decided to go with the cheap stamina one. I found the spirit one on AH just now and Im changing it.

Regarding gemming in general, I am a JC myself and I keep playing around with my gems often.

Coming to engineering.......it gives me +27spellpower on my cloak, +24crit on my boots and 340haste every min, which feels like a mini heroism(reduces my cast time) :D.

OCTIVIA: Thanks for commenting, made me feel warm since I applied. God bless.

Luiciana: Intersting example. Yes I have never argued the importance of keybindings and they're my priority. I also got a new UI(SPartan) if its any good? ?

Thanks.
